F1 Visa Interview experience of Sri harsha m at Chennai Consulate on 19-6-2014

Me:Good morning Officer.

VO:No reaction.And took my I20 and passport,and after going through my I20 for a min...

VO:Why MS now?(unexpected question for 1st)

ans:I want to upgrade my professional skills.

VO:ohh! so you are currently employed is it?

ans:Yes sir,I'm working in TCS since june 2012 and I was recently promoted as Software Engineer/

VO:okay then why do you want to pursue MS now?

ans:As I said I wanted to upgrade my skills and advance in my profession.Thats the reason I have taken a sabbatical......(Vo interrupted)

Vo:So you mant to say there is already a position waiting for you when you come back

ans:yes sir,I already had a discussion regarding this with my Lead.

Vo:Whoz going to support your?

ans:My father.He is a private financier and he earns 8 lakhs/annum andHe has already deposited 33 lakhs in my savings account for this purpose which is 75% of my total expenses for 2 years and .....before i could say anything the VO placed my I20 in space and was staring at my face sarcastically(as if he meant "Man enough now")..I was a little confused and gave a smile,took my i20 and thanked the VO and left.Only after coming out did i even realise that he didnot say "the golden words".I was a little petrified but was somehow sure my vissa was approved because of the sarcatic smile of VO.

After a careful review of my interview I came to realise that my next question was always based on my previous answer as long as it is not a routine one. and i got to cover all my positive's like got recently promoted(after 2 yrs in tcs everyone gets to be a Software engineer :P),taking a sabbatical leave so not a potential immigrant.
