F1 Visa Interview experience of Suramya Chukka at Chennai Consulate on 8-11-2014

Reached consulate at 9 am and waited in a never ending queue forever :p (4 n hlf hrs)

I was sent in for interview at 1.30 pm.By that time i was exhausted and a bit carried away from focus.

At the counter too,there was a long queue before me,all H1 and all approved .Finally,its my turn and I am very confident that my result would be positive.

Counter:19

VO is a middle aged man with tough face.

Me:Good afternoon,Sir

VO:Good afternoon.Pass me ur passport.

Me: Here sir(handed my passport)

VO:mmm..so why did u pick this university?(and started typing)

Me:UNCC is an urban research university implying very good infrastructure and facilties for research.I was undergraduated in computer science and networking is my favorite.I  have done a project on wireless networks and came to know that uncc has an active research on the same.They also provide wireless and nettwork sensing laboratory to work on the same.Thats the reason why i chose this.

VO:(Typing all this time and gave a frown when i ended)

(Took a paper from his side)Whats ur UG percentage?

Me:87.5% Sir

VO:We cant process ur request now,you may apply later(Handed that paper and passport to me)

Me:Ok sir,may I know the reason please?

VO: Its there on ur 214-b(Pointing towards the paper given to me.)

 Me:Thank you sir.

 On 214-b,he checked a box beside which was a paragraph printed saying that I am not eligible for the criteria(I still wonder why :p)

No documents were asked for,not even i20,except passport.Interview lasted only for a minute.
