F1 Visa Interview experience of Rakesh Kumar Kotha at Mumbai Consulate on 13-11-2014

Reached the consulate at 7:00AM

After all formalities, waited in the queue for nearly 40 minutes. There is no token system. Some nervousness. Before me 6 Visas have been rejected. So gone mad and thought "biscuit this time also." Then took a long breath and prepared myself with confidence whether they approve or reject I should be confident and give the best of mine.

Then a security boy insisted to move forward to 30th counter. VO is same madam as before.

Me: (I went forward) Good morning madam. How are you? Thank god, I am glad to see you again. I love to meet you!

VO: Ho, you came again! (with smile)

Me: Yup! Last time, I was a bit of nervous but this time I am so happy to see you ma'am. You are really gorgeous (cream biscuit) Your smile is awesome ma'am. The way you interview the Visa candidates is very nice.

VO: Ohhh! Is that true?

Me: Yeah ma'am!

VO: That's good! But this time I am not going to interview you because I have already done. (She only took my Passport, I-20 and SEVIS to other counter said to that officer in his ears something and told me to wait for 2 minutes.)

Me: (again tension started)

VO: Why this university?

Me: (again blank, but this time I thought of my girlfriend who's Visa is already approved on November 7th, she prepared me very well. So, at least for her, I answered him..) This university course work matches to my area of interest.

VO: (typed for 3-4 minutes and asked..) What is your course?

Me: Information Technology

VO: What's your major in UG?

Me: CS

VO: What will you do after 3 years from now?

Me: May be working in an MNC.

VO: In US?

Me: Nope, not at all! I will work in India only!

VO: Which year passed out?

Me: Recently

VO: Say me month and year (with a frustrated voice. I thought this time also my Visa is going to be biscuit.)

Me: May 2014

VO: Who's funding you?

Me: My parents

VO: What's your father?

Me: He is a police officer (actually, he is a constable, low grade employee in police department.)

VO: Ho, really?

Me: Yup!

VO: (Then the golden words came..) Your Visa approved!

Me: You made my life sir! Have a nice day!

Then I ran back to the entrance and thanked my girlfriend for everything. Because of her, I have achieved something.
