Seen one male Chinese VO rejected F1 Visa before me. He was asking things like mail transcripts, professors stuff and other detailed things. I was praying to God.
VO: Come forward (and said...) Namaste, Sir Good morning!
Me: Good morning sir, how are doing?
VO: Good. How many colleges you have applied?
Me: 6 sir.
VO: Which are those?
Me: Syracuse, SCU, UNCC, NEU, UTD, IUPUI (he wasn't listening to me, but typing in PC and nodding his head)
VO: Ok, then why Syracuse?
Me: Sir, this is my best and better ranked admit among of my all other admits. From Syracuse i got 30% scholarship.
VO: Great man, good university + scholarship!
Me: Sir, moreover Syracuse provides best course combination which comes under my area of interest and also I have work experience for the same. I am really interested in research work which is being done by Professor Tang (here I told Chinese professor name first because VO was Chinese) which is about mobile sensing application unique platform and.. (VO interrupted)
VO: Ok ok, good good.
VO: What's your father?
Me: My father is working as a manager (predicted question and gave answer.)
VO: What's his income?
Me: ₹ 7.7 lakhs per year and sir my mother is also earning in my family.
VO: Ok I am granting your Visa. (While holding I-20, he said...) Please keep I-20 with you when you land up in USA.
Me: Have a good and lovely weekend sir.
VO: Thank you man... You too, enjoy!
Overall the VO seemed like a nice and techie guy. Hardly 40 seconds interview.
Tip from me: Be prepared for obvious questions like "Why this?", "Why not this?" Just sound calm and answer your questions carefully with confidence and eye contact. That's all what is needed.
I know tension would be too much but release it before 1 hour of interview. Think about only positive things!
